Entering Data: Curating Data Records and Uploading Raw Files

In the overall workflow of the system, templates and types define the structure of the data, and then actual data records and associated files entered (manually or through automated means) to populate the system's data collections.

These collections of data (records) and associated resources (files, etc.) may then, subsequently, be searched (locally or remotely), shared, and edited in a number of ways.

In the context of the MDCS, data is typically entered either:

• Manually - via the Curator application and use of built-in or UI-Module-based input forms.
• Automatically - via the RESTful API of the application.
